Salesforce Offers Collaboration Beta To Elite Group

One hundred companies will test Chatter, Salesforce.com's social networking service that has been dubbed, "Facebook for Business."

The Register: Using technology it bought from Informavores last year, Salesforce.com is rolling out a new social networking service for businesses that is currently in beta trials. One hundred companies are currently trying out the collaboration cloud service, which is known as "Chatter."

Like other social networking services, Chatter allows users to post profiles and status updates. It also connects with Twitter, Facebook, Google docs, and other Salesforce.com products. The final version is expected to be released later this year.
