Staples Seeks Bigger Role in IT Services

The office supply retailer now offers data center services through its Staples Technology Solutions unit.

CIO.com: In a move designed to take it inside the corporate data center, office supply retailer Staples is expanding its technology services for businesses. Through its Staples Technology Unit, the company now offers consulting services, disaster recovery, data center media management, and printer management services.

According to a company spokesperson, the new business unit is comprised of two smaller companies that Staples recently acquired: Thrive Networks and Corporate Express. In fact, the company already has nearly 3,000 customers for its new business unit as a result of these acquisitions.
