CIO.com: On Friday, Dell announced plans to increase its strategy of bundling software, services and hardware tailored for niche markets. For example, the company already offers a package for hospitals that are developing electronic health records, and it hopes to offer similar products for other industries.
The move could reduce costs for companies that currently purchase software, hardware and services from separate vendors. "We will provide Dell hardware, provision the hardware, install the software and run it as a package if the client wants us to," said James A. Champy, chairman of Dell Services' Consulting Practice. "If the deal is priced well, they will buy it."
