Google Acquires Aardvark For $50 Million

After two months of talks, Google has acquired social search service Aardvark for about $50 million.

Washington Post: Google and Aardvark has been in talks since December, and now the two have made it official: Google will acquire the social search service for about $50 million.

Founded by a former Google employee, Aardvark allows users to ask a question of their social networks and have it answered by friends or friends of friends. In October 2009, Aardvark had 90,361 users who asked an average of 3,167.2 questions per day. The company had raised approximately $6 million in venture capital.
