IT Workers to Receive Slight Pay Increases in 2010

This year, IT salaries are expected to rise just 1.8 percent--the slowest growth rate in five years.

eWeek: The good news for IT workers is that salaries are on the rise; the bad news is that salaries won't rise enough to keep up with inflation. In its 2010 salary report, Computer Economics predicts just a 1.8 percent median salary rise for IT workers, well below the 2.7 percent rate of inflation.

Some IT pros will fare better than others though. Developers should receive 2.1 percent pay increases, and application developers and SOA specialists earn the most pay.
