NewsFactor: The recent news of cyberattacks, like the well-reported China-Google incident, has turned security companies like McAfee and Symantec into the darlings of Wall Street.
"Security has been underinvested," says Daniel Ives, analyst at FBR Capital Markets. "Given the constant attacks, corporations and governments can't continue to delay these high-priority purchases."
In fact, since the Google attack, McAfee has signed 16 deals with federal agencies.
In addition, Stock prices at McAfee, Symantec, and CheckPoint have risen significantly from last year.
