The new ProxySG Appliance makes it easier for organizations to upgrade from IPv4 to IPv6.

Techworld: As the move to upgrade to IPv6 begins to accelerate, BlueCoat has introduced a new appliance that aims to make the move easier for organizations. The ProxySG appliance makes it possible for enterprises to enjoy some of the benefits of the new protocol, while delivering applications efficiently.

"Many of the IPv4 translation initiatives focus on the network and tunnelling which doesn’t necessarily mean that the applications are delivered effectively," said Qing Li, Blue Coat's chief scientist. "We believe that deploying v6 brings unknowns and security challenges to the enterprise. Blue Coat offers these enterprises a secure platform and brings them help in deploying those applications."
