TechNewsWorld: Google has moved its social search service one step closer to final release, upgrading it from "labs" to "beta" status. Users with a Google profile can now click links on the search page to see results from "My social circle" and "My social content."
The new service has drawn warnings from privacy advocates who warn Google users to be careful what they post in their profiles. "Many people may not fully understand that what they put up on the Internet is indexed and can be found by strangers," Rob Enderle, principal analyst at the Enderle Group, told TechNewsWorld. "Social Search will likely get people to think more about what they put up online."
