In a recent survey, 52 percent of the customers of backup provider CommVault said that they are considering using cloud services currently or at some point in the future.

NetworkWorld: Backup provider CommVault has released the results of a survey in which 52 percent of respondents said that they were considering using cloud-based services, either now or in the future. Key reasons for considering cloud storage included growing data volumes, limits on current storage capacity, the large footprints of data centers, lengthy data retention requirements and the cost of storage infrastructure.

But the picture isn't all rosy for cloud computing. NetworkWorld reports, "More than 75% of the survey sample said they have some concerns about moving data to a storage cloud, with 30% saying security is their biggest worry. One out of five customers said reliability is the biggest roadblock."
