The newest network operator to offer the iPhone reports 50,000 presales.

ITProPortal: The CEO of Vodaphone reports that his company will be delivering "over 50,000 iPhones to customers on its first day of selling the device."

While Vodaphone is the fourth UK operator to offer the phone, its initial sales are much better than its competitor's. Vodaphone is promoting the phone as a business tool, which may be part of the reason for the success.

The news is a bad sign for Google's Nexus One, which only sold 20,000 handsets in its first week.
