On Thursday, Intel took the wraps off several new chips featuring the smaller 32-nanometer circuitry.

Reuters: The new chips released by Intel on Thursday are designed to provide better performance and improve energy efficiency in both laptops and desktops. They are also the first to feature basic graphics capabilities which will support HD video and some 3D games.

The new chips are also the first ever to feature 32-nanometer circuitry. In the race to make processors ever smaller, Intel has gained a lead on arch-rival AMD, which will not release 32-nanometer chips until 2011.
