Big Businesses Put Greener Demands on IT Vendors

Vendors will need to demonstrate their commitment to the environment if they want to do business with corporate giants.

InfoWord: Apologies to Kermit the Frog, but IT vendors may find it easier being green. While global climate change treaties don't appear to be coming soon, vendors are greening up their practices in order to compete for contracts with big organizations like HP, Verizon, and the federal government. What counts as green? Companies are looking for products that use less energy, don't contain hazardous materials, use natural resources wisely, and are packaged and delivered in a sustainable manner.
