Facing lackluster sales, Acer, Asustek Computer, Micro-Star International, and other notebook vendors are now targeting business buyers instead of consumers.

DigiTimes: At least three suppliers of ultra-thin notebooks are targeting business buyers rather than consumers with their newest products. Acer Travelmate models, Asustek's UL series and MSI's new X-series will all be marketed to business buyers.

The move comes in response to disappointing sales during the past year. Analysts expect 2009 shipments of ultra-thin notebook shipments to reach only six million units, or 3.7 percent of global notebook shipments. Industry watchers believe that 2010 shipments may increase to 24 million units, or 12 percent of global notebook shipments.
