Cisco, HP, IBM, Microsoft Join Cloud Computing Consortium

A new industry coalition comprising the likes of Cisco Systems, IBM, EMC and Microsoft will try to remove some of the key barriers for enterprises looking to embrace cloud computing.

IT vendors such as Cisco, HP, IBM, Microsoft, and EMC have joined the Enterprise Cloud Buyers Council, a group created by TM Forum. Also on the council are CA, Alcatel-Lucent and AT&T. Cloud computing holds a lot of promise, according to TM Forum, but challenges around such issues as security and privacy will hinder adoption.
